Theraplay is a evidenced based treatment to help young kids heal from attachment problems and trauma. Theraplay uses a variety of fun games and activities to help children attach to their parents and caregivers. Theraplay is most often used for children 2-11 years old. Parents are highly involved in this treatment and working closely with the therapist to help improve a child’s attachment. This treatment is often appropriate for foster children and children who are adopted. It’s also used for a variety of mental health issues in young children including autism, anxiety, PTSD and depression.
